A body was found near a popular Boston restaurant, police said Thursday, confirming a death investigation is underway.

Police responded around 4:15 p.m. to the Barking Crab on Sleeper Street in the Seaport District, for a report of a person found dead in the area, Boston police said.

There was a large police presence at the scene Thursday afternoon.

No further information was immediately available, including where exactly the body was found.
