Boston-Based Blogger Shares Prime Travel Tips

In 2015, the 26-year-old quit her desk job, sold her belongings, and used her savings to adopt a new lifestyle.

Boston-based Brittany Stopa is living the life most people dream about. She’s a travel blogger who has found a way to travel year-round.

“I just love to travel and being tied down to one place is just too limiting,” said Brittany.

In 2015, the 26-year-old quit her desk job, sold her belongings, and used her savings to adopt a new lifestyle.

Over the past year, she’s visited 19 countries and shares her journeys through her blog.

The blog now gets enough clicks to make a profit, which pays for her travels. On her blog she also schools followers on where to travel, and how to do so frugally.

She said, "Traveling for a longer period of time makes your money stretch longer."

"Going to cheaper accommodations, not flying between places, and taking buses” also helps, explained Brittany.

For Americans, Brittany advises travelers to start with South America. She said one flight can get you to the region, and then you can cheaply travel through countries.

She says she’s met many people who live this lifestyle overseas, everyone from single people to whole families.

If you want to adopt the full time traveling lifestyle, Brittany offered this advice:

1. Start saving, find ways to save money on everything and put those savings away. Brittany did this for years, saved $15,000 and used that for her first six months of travel.

2. Find a way to work remotely. Brittany started a blog, but many careers have remote options. If you chose to start a blog- get a free domain name and start blogging right away. It can start as a hobby until it’s profitable enough to live off its earnings.

3. Change your concept of travel. It’s not a vacation as much as it is experiencing a new country and living in it as the locals do. Choose frugal options over resorts, but stay in the country longer so you can experience it fully over time.
