Boston Building Evacuated After Crews Hit Gas Line

The building is opposite Government Center Plaza in Downtown Boston

Officials say a building in Boston has been evacuated as a precaution after construction crews hit a gas line.

Boston Fire says it happened around 8 a.m. Monday at 10 Tremont St., which is opposite Government Center Plaza.

A gas company is on the scene now.

Boston Fire says most of the gas is venting into the atmosphere, but some leaked into a couple of buildings' basements.

Streets in and around 10 Tremont St. closed earlier due to gas leak have been reopened.
