Boston City Hall Plaza Winter Event Returns Next Month

Boston’s winter attraction is set to reopen at City Hall Plaza next month with even more food and fun for the family.

Presented by Berkshire Bank, Boston Winter, which opens Nov. 24, features vendors selling clothing, Christmas décor and food.

Last year’s event had 42 cottages for vendors. According to the City Hall Plaza’s website, the event will feature more than 85 chalets this year.

Botanical Springs CEO Francesco Capaldi was one vendor who said he enjoyed the first-time experience.

"I started the company a year ago and this is our first time out selling," said Capaldi last year. "Saturday we had probably 62,000 people come through and we had a great response."

The event also features an 11,000 square foot ice rink. Last year, Boston Bruins alumni broke in the rink with the first skate.

Visitors can rent skates or bring their own.

Boston Winter will be open seven days a week. The shopping plaza will be open through Dec. 31 and the skating rink will be open through February.

Local artists are encouraged to apply for performance opportunities.

Other attractions will include a tree maze, a Santa house and a wine and beer experience.
