Boston's one-day gun buyback event netted 43 guns.
In a press release issued Sunday morning, Boston police said the city had six drop-off locations Saturday. The program offered city residents a $100 Target gift certificate funded by Massachusetts General Hospital in exchange for surrendering a handgun.
The event took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
