Boston Police Respond to Two Shootings on Eve of Gun Violence Awareness Day

Boston police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred overnight in Boston.

Two people were taken to the hospital following a shooting on Whitfield Street just after midnight on Friday.

Two hours earlier, a person was shot on Washington Street. That person suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officers closed a large part of Washington Street as they investigated the shooting, which happened shortly after 10 p.m.

No arrests have been made in either incident.

The incidents occurred on the eve of Gun Violence Awareness Day. There are four events taking place across the state, where participants will gather to demand a future free from gun violence.
