Boston Police Yet to Reveal Reason for Captain's Leave

Boston Police have yet to reveal a reason why a celebrated captain in their department was placed on administrative leave, but they confirm Capt. Haseeb Hosein has not been working as of Monday.

Hosein became a captain in the department in 2014, making him the first Muslim to reach the rank. He oversaw Mattapan and was once the city's highest paid employee.

The head of the Boston Police Superior Officers Federation said Monday night that the union was made aware Hosein had been placed on leave earlier in the day, but didn't have a reason.

The community leader earned more than $366,000 in 2017 and just under $400,000 last year, according to city salary records.

Boston Police have not said when they will address Hosein's leave.
