Boston Startup Files Lawsuit Against Fyre Festival Organizers

Tableist is filing a $3.5 lawsuit against the event’s organizers to recover damages from event

A Boston company is adding to the wave of lawsuits against the organizers of the disastrous Fyre Festival.

The Boston Globe reports that Tableist is filing a $3.5 million lawsuit against the event’s organizers to recover damages from event, whose advertised luxury concert experience turned into an unsafe catastrophe. Tableist, a Boston startup for ticketing and nightlife, provided the ticketing platform and event managing software for Fyre Festival.

The event’s organizers promised customers refunds, but Tabelist says they have not paid up and they are left handling millions of dollars in chargebacks. The Boston startup claims it has had to lay off almost half of its staff and is at risk because of the organizers’ actions.
