
Two men were killed and a third person hurt when a car crashed into a tree late Wednesday in Brockton, Massachusetts, officials said.
The driver, 20-year-old Fernando Da Silveira Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man sitting in front, 37-year-old Christopher Ribeiro, was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said Thursday. Both men were from Brockton.

A person sitting in the back of the car was also taken to a hospital for treatment; prosecutors didn't share their condition as of Thursday afternoon.
The incident on North Cary Street was reported about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, with the car found crashed into a tree about 15 feet from the road, prosecutors said. State and local police were investigating how the crash took place.

Police initially described the crash as serious, and footage from the scene showed extensive damage to the car.
