Fire Captain Accused of Threatening Teens With Bat

A fire captain in Brockton, Massachusetts, is accused of threatening two teenagers with a baseball bat in Braintree.

Francis Bills was arrested Wednesday afternoon near French's Common. Police in Braintree say he used a bat to threaten two children, hitting one with his hand.

According to Braintree Police, the incident stemmed from one of the teens sitting on Bills' child's minibike.

The office of Mayor Bill Carpenter confirms Bills is a captain with the Brockton Fire Department.

While Bills was originally set to be arraigned Thursday, police say his court appearance has been postponed about 30 days due to the Valor Act.

It was not immediately clear whether Bills had an attorney.
