Authorities on Cape Cod are investigating after a bleach-like substance was thrown into someone's face during an argument at a Cumberland Farms store.
Dennis police say an officer was flagged down by an employee of the Cumberland Farms on Route 134 who reported a customer had been assaulted by a male suspect.
An investigation showed the victim and the suspect started in the store's parking lot and eventually extended inside the store, culminating in the suspect throwing a substance that police said smelled like bleach into the victim's face.
The suspect left the store and fled in a dark-colored vehicle, heading southbound on Route 134.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to treat the victim, and police say the attack doesn't appear to be random.
The investigation is ongoing.
