Hundreds Without Power After Teen Allegedly Crashes Into Pole: Police

Nearly 250 people in Massachusetts were without power Thursday morning after a teenager allegedly crashed a vehicle into a utility pole in Revere, Massachusetts. 

Police said the crash happened just before 2 a.m. near the area of 375 Washington Ave. when, for reasons unclear, a 15-year-old driver crashed their car into a power pole.

Video of the scene show downed wires and a power pole snapped in half, dangling over the vehicle. Several authorities could be seen responding to the dangerous scene.

Authorities said a woman was out of the car upon arrival. They did not say if she was behind the wheel.

There was no further information about the identity of the driver. 

Police said the driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital. The severity of their injuries is unclear.

No injuries were immediately reported.
