If you were looking for "fireworks" out of Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, you didn't get them.
But make no mistake: The C's were very active at the 2019 NBA Draft.
Boston agreed to two trades Thursday, sending Aron Baynes to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the Milwaukee Bucks' 2020 first-round pick and dealing the No. 20 pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for the No. 24 and No. 33 selections.
"There was a lot of conversation going on in this draft, maybe more than any I remember with trade discussions and so forth," Ainge said in a post-draft interview with NBC Sports Boston.

Analysis: "He's a wing who has the ability to play the point if he needed to. He reminds me of a better, more athletic version of Evan Turner. ... That's a really solid pick at 14." - A. Sherrod Blakely
"I think they know he's got potential. He can clearly score the ball. ... I think Brad Stevens watched a lot of IU basketball and he's well-versed in what this kid can do." - Chris Forsberg

NO. 33 OVERALL: CARSEN EDWARDS, GUARD, PURDUE
Age: 21

College stats (2018-19 season): 24.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.9 apg in 36 games; 44.0 field goal percentage, 35.5 3-point percentage
Analysis: "I was in the workout that he was here, and he lit it up. This guy can pull up off the dribble, stop behind screens, hand-backs. It was unbelievable to watch him shoot. He needs to become a better playmaker, but that's what they were saying based on his play at Purdue." -Brian Scalabrine
"When was he at his best? In the biggest, brightest moments. And when you can add a guy like that in the second round who meets a need of yours ... This is a high-reward, low-risk acquisition by the Celtics." - A. Sherrod Blakely

Analysis: "(He) fell deep in the second round due to concerns around his lack of size and slender frame, but he may be able to earn a roster spot in the NBA down the road thanks to his excellent ball-handling skills, shiftiness, pull-up jumper and court vision." - ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
