Chickadee May Be Opening on the Boston Waterfront

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like a new restaurant and/or bar could be on its way to the Boston waterfront, and a couple of people who have worked at one of the city's best-known dining spots appear to be behind it.

According to a source, a new spot tentatively called Chickadee is seeking a liquor license from IDB Food and Beverage, LLC, which appears to have a connection to the Innovation and Design Building on Drydock Avenue, and that John DaSilva is the manager listed for the proposed place (and the address given indicates that Chickadee would be in that building). A Bizapedia page mentions that DaSilva and Ted Kilpatrick are involved with the place, while sources say that both DaSilva and Kilpatrick are alums of No. 9 Park, a high-end Beacon Hill restaurant that is owned by Barbara Lynch. (DaSilva is also known for his work at Spoke in Somerville's Davis Square.) The hearing is expected to take place on March 14, so stay tuned for more updates.

The address for the proposed Chickadee is 21 Drydock Avenue, Boston, MA, 02210.
