Monday's Report From the Road: Baltimore
The day got off to an early start! We began in New York City. Then after the morning show, we hit the road and drove another 190 miles to Maryland.
We added three more states to our list – New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. In case you were wondering how long it took us to traverse the second smallest state in the Union - 12 minutes!
In-depth news coverage of the Greater Boston Area.
We rolled into Maryland just before noon. It’s the home of blue crabs, crab cakes and - oh, yes - the Ravens. After trying some world famous crab cakes, we walked around the Lexington Market in the heart of Baltimore. Donning my Patriots gear (in public) led to a few dirty looks.
After filling up on oysters and crab cakes — in case you’re wondering where we got the delicious crab cakes, we went to Faidley’s... a family run joint since 1886! — we were off to the Patriots Fan Club of Baltimore. The headquarters of this club is in the DogWatch Tavern, as the owner has New England roots.
We spent a couple hours with the crew celebrating the Patriots. They sure know how to throw a party. For a typical Pats game, they count fans in the hundreds. In total, there are one thousand one hundred fans.
All this week, NBC Boston meteorologist Chris Gloninger is driving the Weather Warrior, our weather center on wheels, from Boston to the Super Bowl in Houston, visiting with Patriots fans at various stops along the way. Throughout his travels, Chris will illustrate how Patriots Nation extends far beyond New England. To experience some of his previous stops, click on the cities in the interactive map above.
