A cold front pushes offshore today, ushering drier and more seasonable conditions as high pressure builds overhead. Mostly sunny skies are expected with high temperatures reaching into the mid to upper 70s inland and upper 60s to low 70s at the coast.
An area of high pressure out of Canada will crest overhead and move east, resulting in a wind shift from the southeast.
Moisture and cloud cover will increase throughout the evening. Overnight lows will dip into the low to mid-50s. An area of low pressure and associated warm front approaches from the Ohio River Valley on Saturday.
Showers and light rain move in with temperatures about 10 degrees below the seasonal norm for this time of year in the 60s and low 70s.
On Sunday, a cold front will lead to a wetter day with numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms across the region. Highs will reach into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees south to around 70 degrees across the North Country.
Looking ahead to next week, Monday will feature showers in the morning before a drier and cooler air mass moves into New England behind the departing cold front. Expect decreasing clouds with increasing sun as the day progresses. Highs reach into the low to mid 70s south, near 70 degrees north.
