Cooler Air Settling In

A gusty wind is pumping more seasonable air into New England today, keeping high temperatures in the 60s to near 70 for most spots. We’ll enjoy plenty of sun through the day, with just a few passing clouds. Gusts will be around 30 MPH at times near the coast.

It gets chilly tonight with lows in the 30s and 40s in Northern New England, where we’ll have areas of frost, and 40s and 50s in Southern New England.

Monday is sunny but even cooler with highs in the 60s.

Temperatures warm back up into the 70s on Tuesday, but we’ll see a few extra clouds as a warm front pulls through. A few showers will also arrive, mainly north of the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the next several, with parts of Southern New England popping into the 80s. It will be cooler in Northern New England as a cold front works through with clouds and showers.

The front, and the band of rain with it, arrives in Southern New England late Wednesday into Thursday. That will usher in a new pattern starting late week.

Highs on Thursday and Friday will only be in the 60s as we dodge rounds of showers.

Most of next weekend looks dry for now, but also cool, with highs in the 50s to near 60.

Frosty mornings will be likely too, with lows in the 30s and 40s.
