New details have emerged Thursday in a homicide investigation in Rochester, New Hampshire, including the name of the victim.
The state attorney general's office identified the victim as 24-year-old Rochester resident Billy Jo Ahearn.
Authorities said Rochester police officers responded to the scene on South Main Street around midnight on Wednesday for a reported shooting involving two groups of people.
When officers arrived, they found three adults, including Ahearn, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died, according to police.
The state medical examiner's office deterimined Ahern died from a single gunshot wound, and ruled her death as a homicide.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at (603) 330-7140.
Early Wednesday afternoon, a canine with Boston ATF was sniffing the grounds at the Rochester Public Library and at a home on Lafayette Street, about a half mile from the shooting scene.

"Nothing surprises me around here," said Lafayette Street resident Laurie Pearson.
She says it's a violent part of the city, and while she's used to seeing police around, she knows very little about what's going on because she keeps to herself.
"In this neighborhood, it's better that way," Pearson said.
Back on South Main Street, resident Virginia Tripp said that after three years in Rochester, enough is enough.
"This is not what I wanted, I wanted a peaceful, quiet existence," she said. "I'm looking for a new place to live."
