Law enforcement officials in Massachusetts announced they have recovered dozens of stolen Amazon packages and hope to get them to their rightful recipients in time for Christmas.
Attorney General Maura Healey's office said the packages were discovered while police were investigating a separate case involving a spate of break-ins at local restaurants.
One restaurant broken into was Tatte Bakery on Beacon Street in Brookline.
"I'm very happy they got caught," said Tzuit Or, the bakery's owner. "They stole money, all the cash, change and employee tips. They stole our handle device and anything they could find."
Police were searching the Boston home of 33-year-old Dharol Joyner, who works as a subcontractor making deliveries for Amazon, during a separate investigation into a rash of break-ins at Taunton and Quincy restaurants when the packages, addressed to residents of the greater Boston area, were discovered.
"We're talking about dozens and dozens of packages," Healey said. "Everything from stereos to tools to grills to an array of holiday items that were supposed to end up on people's doorsteps."
Investigators are hoping to get the packages to their rightful recipients.

"All of [the packages] have been appropriately cataloged and we feel it is appropriate now to release these packages to the public and to the recipients," said Healey.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, Brookline Police Chief Daniel O'Leary and other law enforcement officials helped load the packages on to a van and return them to Amazon so they can hopefully be delivered by the holiday.
Joyner pleaded not guilty to several charges related to a break-in at a Wendy's restaurant. He's been ordered held on $7,500 bail.
