Drizzle, clouds and a few showers linger this afternoon across eastern New England and Maine as a cutoff meanders to the northeast, slowly pulling away.
Record rainfall was set in Boston yesterday thanks to that tropical-esque storm with 2.3 inches of rain for the date. Minor river flooding continues across New England through the week from the continued snowmelt and from the heavy rain the last few days.
Sunshine and highs in the 60s this afternoon push temperatures to 70 across western New England again. We stay cool on the coast with highs in the 50s and decreasing clouds.
Another weather system, much faster moving in this most recent three day event, will race in tonight with a period of rain north, and a few showers south. We expect low temperatures in the 40s. Although in the mountains it could be cold enough that rain may mix with or change to snow, including lower elevations in northern Maine.
The showers linger for Wednesday morning, clearing from west to east in the afternoon with highs around 60.
Thursday will be the pick of the week with sunshine and high temperatures in the 60s all over the northeast.

For the third time in three weeks, we have another storm developing in the south with a severe weather outbreak in Texas and Oklahoma. Almost the same exact thing as last week.
