It appears Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to Julian Edelman.
After X-rays on the rib injury that forced him out of Sunday's game against the Jets came back negative, the wideout was scheduled to have a follow-up MRI to rule out damage to his rib cartilage Monday - but according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there's good news on the injury front.
Source on Julian Edelman: "He'll be good" … Another indication that the injury isn't major and he hasn't been ruled out for this week. https://t.co/n4a6hAX0BU — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 23, 2019
There's still two days until the team's first injury report of the week and six days until the Patriots face the Bills in Buffalo -- but this is definitely good news for an offense that needs Edelman on the field.
Edelman finished Sunday's game with a game-high seven receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, and he leads New England in receptions (17), targets (25), and receiving yards (196) this season.
