Fall Sticks Around Through Friday

Thursday and Friday, the weather pattern will be quiet as the dome of high pressure will be over northern New England, shifting the wind from the northeast to 10-15 miles per hour, making for an onshore wind along the coast.

High temperatures Thursday will be near 60, with mostly locations in northern New England remaining in the 50s under mostly sunny skies by the afternoon after we start off with more clouds in southern New England. Friday brings a sun-filled day to end out the work week with highs into the 60s for most.

For the weekend, the high-pressure that is responsible for giving us the quiet, fall-like weather to round out the work week will be sliding off the coastline, a little bit of moisture associated with a warm front to our southwest will bring us a cloudy start to the weekend, with the potential for a few showers in southern New England.

This warm front will give a boost of warmth for the weekend with highs returning back into the 70s both days, but Sunday, a few locations could easily stretch to near 80.

Sunday, we should see slightly more sunshine compared to Saturday, except along the Canadian border where the warm front may generate a few more clouds and a few showers. The next round of showers will be late Sunday into early Monday as another front sweeps in with some showers and the return to cooler weather to start off the next work week.
