Massachusetts State Police responded Monday night to the scene of a fatal accident in Quincy.
A call came in for a crash on Quincy Shore Drive around 9:15 p.m. Monday.
Police say the motorist who caused the crash fled from a trooper who had pulled him over moments earlier for motor vehicle violations.
Just before 9 p.m., a trooper had taken the suspect's information and was processing the motor vehicle stop when the suspect suddenly drove away at a high rate of speed. The trooper did not engage in a pursuit but did follow in the same direction.
Shortly after, the trooper came across the crash on Quincy Shore Drive in the area of Caddy Memorial Park.
A preliminary investigation reveals that the speeding suspect sideswiped one car and then crashed into another before impacting and rolling over the sea wall.
The suspect's vehicle is on the beach and will be removed by a rotator wrecker.
