WATCH: Fire Erupts at Mass. Gas Station on Its Opening Day

People in and around the car can be seen running away as the flames come to life and quickly overcome the vehicle

A Massachusetts gas station's opening day was cut short Monday afternoon when a car caught fire, its owner said.

No one was hurt, but video of the blaze at the Petro Save in Brockton showed flames traveling quickly and threatening another car.

People in and around the car can be seen running away as the flames come to life and quickly overcome the vehicle. Fire travels along the ground toward an SUV, which backs away. Seconds later, people with fire extinguishers rush in to put out the flames.

The fire, which was sparked around 1:40 p.m., meant the Petro Save had to close, owner Yaniv Sostiel told NBC10 Boston.

A hazardous materials team was on the scene, he said.
