Officials say a fire that destroyed a building that was once home to a popular bar in Hanson, Massachusetts, on Thursday afternoon, has been deemed suspicious.
The State Fire Marshal's office has not yet determined the exact cause of the fire at the former JJ's Pub on Liberty Street, but said Friday the incident is still under active investigation.
The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. and quickly reached three alarms. By 6 p.m., the fire was extinguished.
Two firefighters were hospitalized with a heat-related illness while working to put out the flames.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Hanson police at 781-293-4625 or the state's arson hotline at 1-800-682-9229.
