Former Chick-Fil-A Employee Arrested for Alleged Robbery Attempt

A former Chick-Fil-A employee was arrested Thursday for allegedly trying to rob the restaurant at knifepoint in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

Barnstable police arrested Cole Reissner, 20, of Sandwich, after they responded to a call of a robbery at the Chick-Fil-A location.

Employees said the suspect approached the drive-thru on foot and brandished the knife as he demanded money. The suspect fled the scene after restaurant workers refused to comply with his demands. Witnesses described the attempted robber as a man in his twenties with a gray sweatshirt wrapped around his head.

Based on witnesses’ descriptions, police located Reissner on Route 132 and arrested the suspect. He had a gray sweater and a folding knife in his backpack, according to police.

Reissner was arrested and charged with attempting to commit a crime and armed robbery while masked. He was held on $2,500 cash bail and is expected to be arraigned Friday at the Barnstable District Court. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
