A Colorado-based restaurant chain that focuses on Mediterranean food is expanding to New England, and it looks like its first will be located in the heart of Boston.
According to a source, Garbanzo is planning to open in the former Griddler's space on Boylston Street, with an article from The Berkeley Beacon mentioning that the upcoming dining spot will be geared at least in part to nearby Emerson students who may be looking to do some schoolwork while having a bite to eat. The article says that a lease as been signed for the place and if the permitting process goes as planned, Garbanzo--which offers salads, stuffed pitas, flatbreads, and more--could be opening before students return from winter break in January of 2020.
Griddler's, which closed down around the beginning of the year, was known in part for its burgers and hot dogs; another location on Beacon Hill closed in 2016.
The address for this upcoming Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Boston is: Garbanzo, 134 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116. The website for all locations can be found at https://eatgarbanzo.com
