Get Ready for Snow: Parts of New England to See Flakes This Week

By Monday night, snow will expand across Northern New England and rain begins to spread south

We have seen more clouds today and milder temperatures due to a Southwest wind that continues to usher in a warmer air mass with highs in the 40s north to the low 50s south.

A spot rain or snow shower is possible in the mountains of Northern New England this evening. Temperatures tonight won’t be as cold, with lows in the 30s and 40s.

Veterans Day will feature mostly cloudy skies with a spot shower in Southern New England. While towards the mountains, snow will develop and begin to accumulate quickly with temperatures in the 30s.

By Monday night, snow will expand across Northern New England and rain begins to spread south. Tuesday we will see rain transition over to a few snowflakes over much of the area including Cape Cod. Temperatures Tuesday morning will be near 50 in Southeastern Massachusetts and by the evening, they will drop into the 30s.

Snow accumulations in Southern New England will be fairly limited. A coating to an inch is possible over grassy surfaces, but once we head north, where it will snow for over eight hours, totals could surpass 6 inches, especially across ski country.

Behind this storm, the wind gusts up to 40 m.p.h. and record cold temperatures settle in for Wednesday, highs in the 20s to around 30 and wind chills will be in the single digits. Thankfully, it won’t stay cold for long. By Friday, highs will surge into the 40s with temperatures still running below average for this time of year.
