Here's What Bill Belichick Had to Say About Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

The New England Patriots face perhaps their toughest test of the season when they face the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

One big reason for the Chiefs' early success has been quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In his first year as a starter, Mahomes has already thrown 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions for a total of 1,513 yards.

You can count Patriots head coach Bill Belichick among those who have been wowed by the young signal caller's early success.

"Yeah, pretty much everything," he said when asked Monday about what has impressed him about Mahomes. "He gets the ball to all of his receivers quick, sees things quickly, can extend plays, got a great arm, got a fabulous arm, can throw the ball out of the stadium. He makes good decisions, accurate, gets the ball out on time."

Asked about Mahomes' arm strength, Belichick said "I would just say Mahomes has a real good arm... Look, every guy has his own individual traits and characteristics, but Mahomes has a big arm."

Despite his admiration for the player, Belichick said the Patriots didn't do a ton of work evaluating Mahomes when he came out of college last year, because his team didn't have a first round draft pick after trading for wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
