4-Year-Old Girl Hit, Killed by Utility Truck Identified

An investigation is continuing after a 4-year-old girl was hit and killed by a Comcast utility truck in Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon.

The child, identified on Sunday as Savannah Curran, ran into the street outside her home on Fargo Road in Holbrook around 1 p.m. when she was hit by the truck, which was doing business in the area, police said.

She was taken to South Shore Hospital, where she died.

A neighbor said the girl's grandmother also had to be taken to the hospital after apparently going into shock.

NBC Boston watched as investigators took photos of the truck and tested its brakes three times.

A quiet, heavily-wooded neighborhood, residents said children are known to run around and ride their bikes.

Another neighbor who lives next door to the girl's family said she attended mass at St. Joseph's Church to pray for the 4-year-old and her loved ones.

Comcast is the parent company of NBC Universal.
