Husband of Disgraced Rockland Selectwoman Running for Her Seat

What to Know

  • Rockland Town Administrator Allan Chiocca was placed on paid leave in May after Selectwoman Deidre Hall accused him of sexual misconduct.
  • An investigation found it was Hall who was sexually inappropriate toward Chiocca. Fellow Selectman Ed Kimball was found to be involved.
  • Hall's husband, Christopher Hall, had pulled papers to run for both open seats.

The husband of a town official who resigned in disgrace in Rockland, Massachusetts, is running for the seat she left open on the Board of Selectmen.

An investigation by the town found last month that Selectwoman Deidre Hall's allegation of sexual misconduct against Town Administrator Allan Chiocca was fabricated, and that it was actually Hall who was inappropriate toward Chiocca. The scandal prompted Hall to resign.

Another seat on the five-member board was left open three weeks later when Selectman Ed Kimball resigned amid allegations that he lied about his own involvement in the scandal. Kimball was allegedly involved with Hall, as well.

Wednesday night, Rockland Town Clerk Donna Shortall confirmed to NBC10 Boston that Hall's husband, Christopher Hall, had pulled papers to run for both open seats.

Chiocca was placed on paid administrative leave back in May following Deidre Hall's allegations. After her resignation, due to Kimball's connection to the case, not enough selectment were available to vote on the matter, so no further discipline was taken against Chiocca.
