Police Find Vehicle Involved in Interstate 495 Shooting

Authorities have found a vehicle believed to have been involved in a shooting on Interstate 495 in Haverhill on Wednesday evening.

State police say the vehicle was found by authorities in a parking lot of an apartment complex in Haverhill around 10:30 p.m., hours after a third-party caller reported to state police that a vehicle on I-495 southbound appeared to shoot into another car.

However, troopers and local police were not able to find the owner of the suspected vehicle, and towed the vehicle to a secure facility. A description of the suspected vehicle was not provided.

The discovery came hours after a third-party caller reported to state police that a vehicle on I-495 southbound appeared to have fired shots at another car on the road.

Police received descriptions of the vehicles involved, and troopers found the vehicle that had appeared to have been shot at parked in a Wendy's parking lot just off the highway in Lawrence a short while later.

An officer on scene said that the two people inside the car were not cooperating and that the shooting did not appear to be random.

No one appears to have been injured in the shooting.

The shooting is still under investigation.
