2 Taken to Hospital Via MedFlight Following Crash in Wilmington

A rollover crash in Wilmington, Massachusetts temporarily shut down both sides of Interstate 93 while MedFlight responded to the incident.

The Monday morning crash shutdown the interstate in both directions for a while as MedFlight transported a victim. By 6:15 a.m., all lanes were reopened.

The incident happened at 5:15 a.m. near Exit 41, according to local police. Officials said a pickup truck traveling southbound on I-93 struck a guardrail on the right side of the road, causing it to go offroad and land on its side in the woods.

The vehicle's two occupants, a 50-year-old man who was driving the vehicle and a 38-year-old man in the passenger seat, suffered serious injuries. Police said both victims are conscious.

The driver was taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington and the passenger was transported to Tufts Medical Center. Details on what caused them to hit the guardrail were unclear.

By 6:15 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
