Man Struck, Killed by Commuter Rail Train in Lawrence

A man was killed after being hit by an MBTA Commuter Rail train late Tuesday night in Lawrence, Massachusetts, according to the city's police department.

Lawrence police responded just before midnight for a report of a man being hit by a train near the McGovern Transportation Center on Merrimack Street, according to Detective Thomas Cuddy. The male was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics from Lawrence General Hospital.

An investigation is underway by the Essex County District Attorney’s State Police Detective Unit, the MBTA Transit Police and Lawrence police detectives.
