Julian Edelman's Beard Hair Is Being Auctioned for More Than $3,000

You know you've made it when people are willing to shell out thousands of dollars for your beard hair.

If you'll recall, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman went on "Ellen" shortly after winning Super Bowl MVP to have host Ellen DeGeneres shave his considerable scruff in exchange for a $10,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Boston.

So, what happened to those extra trimmings? They're on sale, of course!

The website Charity Buzz is auctioning off Edelman's beard hair to raise additional money for the Boys & Girls Club, and the details are spectacular:

The auction includes the trimmings of Edelman's hair that were shaved off on the show, kept within a resealable zipper storage bag. You'll also receive a photograph of the trim in progress, autographed by Ellen DeGeneres.

Let's face it, this unique Super Bowl souvenir will be hair today, gone tomorrow so bid today!

The beard hair and a resealable storage bag? We're sold.

Apparently others are, as well: The bidding, which began last Friday at $1,000 and continues through this Friday, was up to $3,250 as of Tuesday morning.

This is all for a good cause, of course, and it's a unique way for Edelman to make the most of his personal hygiene solution.

No word on if James Develin is next.
