A pasta shop in Texas has shut its doors, and it is planning to reopen in the local area.
Eater Boston is reporting (via Eater Austin) that La Dolda in Austin, TX, shut down this past Saturday, with owner Matteo Gallizio saying that he is looking to move the business to a location somewhere in Boston. Gallizio told Eater that "Texas is full of barbecue and tacos, and it's been difficult trying to find a space between that....We want to be in a city with more Italian tradition. Unfortunately, it's just not part of the social tissue here" It appears that the business would initially be a wholesaler when it moves to Boston (possibly this winter, but by the summer of 2018 at the latest), but that a retail shop and/or a small pasta bar could eventually open up as well.
La Dolda has been known in part for its fresh-made dried pasta and sauces, along with retail items such as olive oil, flour, butter, and salt.
