A few months ago, we reported that a dining and drinking spot in Allston was closing and a couple of the people behind the place would be opening a new "sister" spot nearby. Now we have learned where it will be located.
A licensing board page within the city of Boston website indicates that Lime Red Tea House has applied for a common victualler license to operate on Commonwealth Avenue by Packards Corner, a short distance west of where Limoo Tea Bar had been until shutting down in late December. Limoo Tea Bar had featured bubble tea-inspired cocktails as well as items such as steamed buns, popcorn chicken, meat on a stick, and pita pockets, and while it is not yet known whether the offerings at Lime Red Tea House will be the same, the fact that it has a similar name and is considered a sister restaurant may indicate that it could be comparable to the now-closed spot.
Another person who was involved with Limoo Tea Bar was also planning to open a new restaurant as well, though no further information on that place has been given as of yet.
The address for this upcoming dining and drinking spot in Allston is: Lime Red Tea House, 1092-1104 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA, 02215.
