Multiple Chances for Severe Weather This Week

What to Know

  • TODAY: Fairly low humidity.
  • TOMORROW: Increased humidity with spotty showers.
  • LOOKING AHEAD: Lightning possibly as week progresses.

It was a cool start to our Monday with temperatures dipping into the lower 50s across Northern New England and pretty much everyone else waking up to lows in the 60s due to the low humidity and mostly clear skies.

However, the weather will begin to change as the day goes by. Clouds will roll in quickly and by this afternoon, we will have more clouds than sun. The humidity will also begin to increase Monday night with an approaching warm front, so our air will turn muggy once again and yield some spotty showers overnight.

By Tuesday, the higher humidity will be responsible for a few showers early morning towards Southern New England and there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms from there on out. We are not expecting a washout, even though Wednesday has the highest probability for widespread rain.

There will be on and off showers throughout the week with lightning being the main threat. This weather pattern is almost identical to the one we had last week and with that said, the best chance for rain looks to stay to the north and west of Boston while the Cape and the Islands are expected to be on the least rainy side.

After Monday, our nighttime temperatures will only drop into the upper 60s to low 70s, providing no relief to the swampy weather ahead.

Highs will be in the mid-80s and once we factor in the humidity, it will feel like the 90s. This trend sticks around all week long and we may get a tiny break over the weekend. We will keep you posted!
