Man Injured in Stabbing Outside Lowell, Massachusetts, Liquor Store

A trail of blood could be seen from a liquor store to a nearby 7-Eleven

A 47-year-old man was found stabbed late Monday night in a Lowell, Massachusetts, 7-Eleven store, authorities said.

The stabbing was reported at about 11:30 p.m. outside the 7-Eleven store on Bridge Street. At the store, the victim was found with several stab wounds. However, the attack is believed to have happened down the block, behind a liquor store.

A trail of blood was seen that began at the liquor store and ended at the 7-Eleven, which was open at the time of the stabbing. The convenience store was closed Tuesday morning as authorities conducted their investigation.

"I wasn’t around here when it happened, he just showed up here," said Will Ortiz, a 7-Eleven employee. "We will be opening up, I just have to do a lot of cleaning right now."

The extent of the victim’s injuries was not immediately clear. He was flown to a Boston-area hospital and underwent surgery.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
