Methuen police said they took a student into custody after the FBI alerted them to a bomb threat on social media Saturday involving the Timony Grammar School.
Through a search warrant of that social media account, investigators were able to confirm it belonged to a student at the school, searched that student's home, and determined the juvenile did not have the means nor opportunity to carry out that threat.

"When I saw that I said, OK, you know they have the person who made this threat and it's not like when I was in school, like they take this very serious," said Methuen parent Katie Herrera.
Also on Saturday, Raynham police investigated a report from a concerned parent about a possible threat to Raynham Middle School in a student Snapchat group.
After investigating, they deemed the threat was not credible.
But this follows Friday's canceled football games at Dedham High School after a caller with a blocked number said there was a rumor someone was going to shoot up the varsity game.
"It is tough but that's the world we live in right now," said parent Joseph Mugisha said.
NBC10 Boston security expert Todd McGhee said it's understandable that concerns remain high following last week's deadly school shooting in Georgia.
McGhee said, "Unfortunately, this type of threat must be taken seriously, as a real situation until it's deemed uncredible."
The investigation here in Methuen remains ongoing.
