A Stoughton man has been arrested and charged with breaking into the homes of people whose family members had recently died.

Franklin police arrested Daniel Lennon, 37, on May 25. He was arraigned in Wrentham District Court Tuesday and charged with:

• Breaking and entering for misdemeanor

• Malicious damage to property

• Possession of a Class E substance.

Police were tipped off after a man called and reported that his property in Wrentham had recently been broken into, and he feared that his Franklin property may also be targeted.

During the investigation officers said they found documents that showed targeted homes of families who had lost family members, and would be attending services for them.

An investigation is still ongoing with law enforcement agencies from neighboring communities.

Lennon was held on $50,000 cash bail over the weekend. He was also arraigned on outstanding charges from the U.S. Marshals.
