Man Arrested for Assaulting Merrimack, NH Uber Driver

A man has been charged with assaulting an Uber driver in Merrimack, New Hampshire, according to police.

The female Uber driver reported that she picked up Saikrishna Mallela, 22, of Nashua, on May 24. She told police that after Mallela was in the vehicle and they were on their route, he began to caress her hand repeatedly and at one point touched her inner thigh. Mallela was dropped off a short distance away.

Malella was charged Tuesday with three counts of simple assault, a class A misdemeanor offense.

Mallela was processed and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear before the Merrimack Circuit Court on July 27, 2017, to answer to the charges. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
