A man spotted photographing children at a Tewksbury Market Basket last week had child pornography in his possession and was arrested, police said Tuesday.
The arrest took place Wednesday, July 17, according to a statement from Tewksbury police.
David Cronin, 49, was originally witnessed photographing young children in the grocery store, according to police. Officers nearby were flagged down and notified of Cronin's suspicious behavior.
As they investigated, the officers discovered multiple photographs of child pornography in Cronin's possession, police said.
Cronin was arrested and booked at the Tewksbury Police Department. He was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Thursday.
It wasn't immediately clear if Cronin had an attorney who could speak to the charge.
