Man Charged in Fatal Boston Stabbing

Police have arrested a suspect in the deadly stabbing of a man in Boston.

Jeremy Correa, a 31-year-old Worcester man, was arrested Wednesday morning. He is being charged with the murder of 50-year-old Edward Sanchez of Boston.

"I commend the Homicide Unit detectives for their quick action," Boston Police commissioner William Evans said in a statement. "Their diligence in the first hours after the incident allowed them to make this arrest of a very dangerous suspect."

Sanchez was stabbed shortly after noon Tuesday in the area of 112 Southampton St., according to police.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Correa was expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court at an unspecified date. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
