Man Charged With Murder, Arson in NH Woman's Death

Circumstances surrounding Carol Felides' death still uncertain

A man has been charged with arson and murder in connection to the death of a New Hampshire woman who was found dead in a mobile home fire.

Sixty-five-year-old Carol Felides was found dead in her home at the Hayes Mobile Home Park in Exeter early Tuesday morning after responding to a fire. Monday, New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald announced 31-year-old Derek William Webber had been arrested on charges of second-degree murder and arson.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday by the chief medical examiner, but authorities said the cause and manner of her death remained under investigation.

Webber is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Rockingham Superior Court. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit, the Exeter Police Department, and the Massachusetts Fire Marshal's Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Felides' death and the fire.
