Man Charged With Manslaughter in 74-Year-Old Mattapan Woman's Death

A 2009 search warrant identifies Anthony Davis, 37, as the grandson of Eleanor Maloney, 76, who died as a result of the shooting.

A man was arrested Friday in connection to a shooting that left a 74-year-old Boston woman dead in earlier this year.

Eleanor Maloney of Mattapan was shot to death April 6 on Mattapan Street. Friday, police said 23-year-old Dane Henry of Roxbury had been charged with manslaughter, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

After the shooting, 37-year-old Anthony Davis, identified by the Boston Globe as Maloney's grandson, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and being an armed career criminal.

Authorities said in April that Davis and another man were involved in a gun fight. They did not believe Maloney was the intended target, saying she was caught in the crossfire between the two men.
