More than 283,700 households are without power in New England as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday as powerful wind gusts from a March nor'easter knocked down trees and utility lines Friday.
In Massachusetts alone, more than 262,300 customers did not have power as of 4:30 p.m. Saturday. National Grid reports more than 142,800 of its customers in the Bay State are without power. More than 119,500 Eversource customers are in the dark.
National Grid also serves Rhode Island, where more than 2,115 customers were without power at 10:30 p.m.

More than 19,062 Eversource customers in Connecticut remained in the dark as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
More than 230 Central Maine Power Company customers are without power in Maine as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
While most of the rain and snow from the nor'easter has finished, 60+ mph winds and moderate to major flooding in coastal communities is still a concern Saturday.
In New Hampshire, all power was restored as of 10:30 p.m. and only one customer does not have power in Vermont.
The nor'easter began Friday morning and is expected to last through Saturday afternoon.
