Maria's Pastry Shop in Boston's North End Is Closing

An award-winning pastry shop in the North End of Boston is shutting down.

According to an article from Eater Boston, Maria's Pastry Shop on Cross Street is planning to close on September 15, as owner Maria Merola says "I've been working for 50 years....I'm done....I love it, and I'm going to miss it, no question." The store, which Merola has owned since 1982 when she purchased the space from Modern Pastry, is known for its variety of Italian treats including its cannoli, which was once given a "best of" by Boston Magazine.

The address for Maria's Pastry Shop is 46 Cross Street, Boston, MA, 02113.

August 26 update: According to a source, Maria's Pastry Shop plans to stay open beyond September 15, though they will not be restocking the place after that date, so it could close soon afterwards.
