A ferry lost power Saturday while it was backing out of Woods Hole for its 5 p.m. trip to Vineyard Haven.
According to the Steamship Authority, the Motor Vessel Martha's Vineyard temporarily lost power due to a fuel issue with its generator and had to drop anchor until it was able to restart its engines and proceed back to the dock with tug escort.
This is the same ferry that lost power in March while en route to Woods Hole from Martha's Vineyard, stranding 78 people and 10 crew members.
The ferry remains docked Saturday night.
As a result, the trips for the vessel have been cancelled and others were delayed.
The MV Sankaty is being brought from Hyannis early Sunday morning so that it can substitute for the MV Martha's Vineyard, beginning with its 6 a.m. trip from Vineyard Haven, until the MV Martha's Vineyard can resume service.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
