Mass. Man Accused of Traveling to NH for Sex With Minor

A 37-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested Monday for allegedly agreeing to meet with what he thought was a minor for sex in New Hampshire.

Police in Nashua said Joshua Carrasquillo of Pepperell was arrested after he traveled from his home to Nashua thinking he was going to meet a minor for sex. Officials launched an investigation into the suspect after they learned he believed he was speaking to a juvenile.

Officials said the Carrasquillo deleted a cellphone application he used to communicate with the "minor" after he suspected police were about to launch an investigation.

The suspect was charged with certain uses of computer services prohibited, attempted felonious sexual assault and falsifying physical evidence. Each charge is punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Carrasquillo is being held on $5,000 cash only bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.
